Top 5 Animal Kingdom Attractions

Animal Kingdom park is very underrated.  I hear from a lot of families that they skip it or don’t really care for it.  It’s true that there aren’t a ton of attractions there, but there is plenty to see and do!  With that being said, this post is JUST about my favorite Animal Kingdom attractions.  Find out what our top 5 Animal Kingdom attractions are in this post!

Lau Family Travels Top 5 Animal Kingdom Attractions

We love Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World!  Even though we LOVE it, it was hard for me to come up with 5 attractions that are our favorites.  We don’t really go there for the rides, however our FAVORITE attraction in ALL of Disney World is here!   Find out what our top 5 Animal Kingdom attractions are below (in no particular order).

Avatar Flight of Passage

So the Lau family all agreed.  Avatar Flight of Passage is an AMAZING attraction.  It is hands down the best 3D, full immersive attraction that we’ve gone on anywhere.  We waited in line for almost 3 hours (the wait was posted at an hour and 20 minutes, but it was clearly wrong) and I thought there was NO way that it would be able to make up for all of that time waiting, but it WAS.  *Be aware that it may induce motion sickness – it is intense!

Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest has been a long time favorite of ours.  This coaster is a lot of fun (but can be a little scary for kids).  I actually LOVE the part when you start going backwards and I normally don’t like going backwards on ANYTHING let alone a roller coaster!  Beware of the Yeti…  I didn’t see him the first few times I rode because I always have my eyes closed!  However, Ashtyn was 4 years old when he first rode and he was afraid that “that guy” was going to pop out at him on all the rides after that!

Kilimanjaro Safaris

If you are looking for something a little less intense but still just as fun then you want to check out Kilimanjaro Safaris.  We absolutely LOVE this 18-minute expedition through the African safari and seeing all of the animals.  My favorites to see are the elephants!  I’m not a huge fan of the part where we travel over the crocodile pit, but I just have to keep reminding myself that we are safe!  Which is your favorite animal to spot on safari?

Festival of the Lion King

My husband has never been a “show person”.  Ashtyn and I love them.  We really enjoyed the Finding Nemo Musical at Animal Kingdom too.  BUT – we ALL love the Festival of the Lion King!  It is very interactive, has great music, and AMAZING talent!  We’ve seen it three times and each time I enjoy it just the same.  Those trampoline jumping monkeys are my absolute favorite!

Kali River Rapids

Okay, so hear me out.  I honestly could only come up with a top 4 Animal Kingdom attractions list, but that wasn’t gonna cut it.  So Kali River Rapids is my I have to pick a 5th attraction so this one is it.  We have had fun on Kali River Rapids, but I really hate getting wet.  And you will get soaked.  Unless you are the lucky ONE person to not get soaked on the entire ride.  But, that’s never me.

  1. I LOVE Animal Kingdom. If you love the elephants you should check out the “Caring For Giants” tour. We did it on our last trip, and it’s awesome!

Our top 5 are: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, Flight Of Passage, Dinosaur and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trails
