This past December I was able to check off staying at one of my Disney dream resorts! We fell in love with the Beach Club years ago when we first went there for a dining reservation at Cape May Cafe and we’ve gone back (almost) every trip since. I was lucky enough to use my travel agent discount to get a great rate on a room and the rest is history! Check out what I thought about finally staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!
Staying at Disney’s Beach Club was a dream come true!
I have always dreamed of staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort & Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and this December we made one of those dreams come true! Usually we just spend our time resort hopping to the Deluxe Resorts because we can’t afford staying there every time we go to Disney! I have to say that it was everything that I dreamed it would be (plus maybe more).
Location, location, location.
The first thing that makes this resort absolutely fantastic is it’s LOCATION. Disney’s Beach Club Resort is considered an EPCOT area resort, however it is also located in the Disney Boardwalk area as well. Our room was only a 5-minute walk to the International Gateway location of EPCOT! You can also take a ferry-boat to Hollywood Studios (you can walk too, but it’s quite a hike)!
Stunning atmosphere and beautiful views!
I LOVE the theme of Disney’s Beach Club Resort because I LOVE the beach! The theme here is supposed to make you feel like you are in a fancy New England Beach Resort (but with warmer weather). I love the blues and the brightness of everything. The color palette is definitely my taste!
However, the view from our actual room was THE BEST. We upgraded to a water view room and the view from our little balcony was mesmerizing. I spent a lot of time just staring at the view because it was so calming and beautiful. We had the BEST view of Disney’s Boardwalk (and we could even see the Eiffel Tower from EPCOT)!
Spacious & comfortable rooms.
We’ve never stayed at a Deluxe Resort before at Disney World, but I was impressed by the amount of space. There was a lot of storage room, which is something that I always like in a resort/hotel! I also was impressed with the beds. They were very comfortable (much better than any Moderate Resort we’ve stayed at)! That could sell me right there!
Lots of dining options at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!
There are over 9 dining options available at Disney’s Beach Club Resort alone. There are also options available at Disney Yacht Club, plus the Boardwalk Area! Not to mention you could always walk over to the World Showcase in EPCOT and grab a bite to eat there too. Food is always top priority when it comes to our family vacations!
Cape May Cafe is one of our FAVORITE table service restaurants in all of Disney World & it’s located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! My husband is ALL about the All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Buffet for dinner there. He definitely gets our money’s worth of crab whenever we eat there.
The BEST pool on Disney World property is HERE!
So, the main reason why I wanted to stay here was because of the pool. The pool has its own NAME. Stormalong Bay is called a “3-acre water wonderland” for good reason. There is a sand bottom in the pools, a 230 foot long water slide, and lots of whirlpools surrounding the main pool area. Stormalong Bay is shared between Disney’s Beach Club Resort and the Yacht Club Resort, but there are other leisure pools as well.
HOWEVER – when we stayed here it was FREEZING cold! We went to the pool area once just because we had to make it happen in case we never stayed there again. The whirlpool was wonderful, but even though the pool water is heated it was still a bit too cold! *Remember that you can NOT pool hop at Disney World. The only way to visit a pool is if you are staying at that resort!
