EPCOT Quick Guide – Walt Disney World

EPCOT Quick Guide

EPCOT is a HUGE park.   It’s actually 2x as big as Magic Kingdom!  I’ve heard families say that they always skip EPCOT because there isn’t anything to do there.  I’ve also heard families say that they love it and spend most of their time there.  One thing that you can’t argue against is that there is a LOT to do there!

EPCOT is a FULL DAY park…  or a few days park!

We have been to EPCOT many times and we still haven’t seen ALL of the World Showcase!  We even tried going the opposite direction one time (that we normally go) and we still didn’t make it all the way around the world!  Now that our son is older I think we MIGHT be able to make it before he gets too tired…  that was our excuse anyway!

FUTURE WORLD

EPCOT is broken up into two separate areas.  Future World is where you will enter if you are coming into EPCOT through the main gates.  We have spent most of our time in Future World since it’s where the majority of the rides are located, but we prefer the food in World Showcase!

Some attractions you will find:
  • Mission: Space
  • SOARIN’
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Test Track
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends
  • Turtle Talk with Crush
  • Living with the Land

Keepin’ it cool at club cool

Make sure you stop at Club Cool which is sponsored by Coca-Cola!  Here you can try 8 different sodas from around the world for free.  Try them all and don’t forget to try the Beverly!

WORLD SHOWCASE

You can enter the World Showcase through Future World OR through the International Gateway near the EPCOT Resort Area.  We usually enter through Future World and take a quick left straight to Mexico for lunch, but you don’t have to do what we do!

There are 11 countries represented at EPCOT on a regular basis:  Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Let's go to EPCOT

Some attractions you will find:
  • Gran Fiesta Tour
  • Frozen Ever After

Food, drinks, and more food!

EPCOT is the best place to get food and the World Showcase will not let you down.  There is food and drinks for ANYONE and EVERYONE.  Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway and the Karamell-Küche in Germany are our favorite places to grab a sweet treat!  Just be careful…  you can spend  A LOT of money on food really fast!

FIREWORKS SHOW

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is the nighttime fireworks show at EPCOT over the World Showcase Lagoon.  We have never actually seen this one in person (only watched in on YouTube)!

SPECIAL EVENTS AT EPCOT

EPCOT has a LOT of special events and festivals that add to the food, drinks, and activities you will find when you are there!  We have actually never been to EPCOT when there wasn’t a special festival going!  The best part is that the festivals are included in the price of your ticket!

During the month of January and February you will find the International Festival of the Arts.  This festival first started in 2017 and has quickly become popular.  I would LOVE to go check this one out, but sadly our school schedule won’t allow it.  The merchandise looks amazing!

Starting the end of February and going through May is the International Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT!  The first time we went to Disney was during Flower & Garden and it was just absolutely beautiful!

My favorite special event at EPCOT is the International Food & Wine Festival!  This one runs from the end of August to mid November.  I mean when you add MORE food and MORE wine to EPCOT of course it’s gonna be my favorite festival!  But seriously, if you have never been to Food & Wine you REALLY need to!

I would love to hear your favorite places & things to do at EPCOT.  Am I missing something important?  Comment below!

  1. Epcot has and always been my favorite, especially World Showcase. When I took German in high school, I loved practicing it in Germany. And of course, eating at the French bakery, smelling the Mexican food inside (and smelling the burning of Rome), and heading the songs in The American Adventure. It’s just a delight to all the senses. Definitely a two day park!!!
