Loews Royal Pacific Review – Universal Orlando Resort

I’ve got to be honest… Loews Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando was not my favorite. We have stayed at all of the Universal Orlando Resorts (except Aventura, since it’s not open yet). However, with that being said I still think that this is a great choice for travelers who are looking for convenience, lots of amenities, and FREE EXPRESS PASS UNLIMITED!

Loews Royal Pacific is a Preferred Universal Resort – with Express Pass Unlimited Included!

Overall, our experience at Loews Royal Pacific was a good one we just weren’t blown away.  A lot of people choose this resort because it includes Express Pass Unlimited.  If you’ve read my previous Universal posts you know that my family is ALL about the Express Pass Unlimited!  Often times because of the Express Pass Unlimited being included, Loews Royal Pacific ends up being cheaper than Loews Sapphire Falls even though it’s considered to be a more “expensive” resort.  In my opinion this is up for debate.  We thought Loews Sapphire Falls was much more lush than Loews Royal Pacific!

Don’t get me wrong, Loews Royal Pacific is still a great resort.

Loews Royal Pacific has a very Polynesian feel to it. They even have Luau’s on select nights! We were able to see the whole thing right from our hotel room window! There are a lot of themed garden areas. Their lush landscape really does make you feel like you are in another part of the world.  However, I felt like the resort was a little dated.  It didn’t feel as bright and open as the other resorts that we had stayed at.

The beds at Loews Royal Pacific are still better than mine at home.

Loews REALLY does an amazing job on their resort rooms. We have become spoiled by staying here and now no other hotel is quite as good. Their beds and pillows are SO lush… it’s the only place I stay where I don’t miss my own bed by the end of the trip!

The room’s are very spacious at Universal as well, with lots of storage space.  I also love how the bathrooms are usually split with the toilet and shower/tub in one room and the sink and mirror outside of the bathroom.  It makes getting ready early in the morning much easier (and quicker)!

The pool wasn’t good enough for my 8-year old resort critic.

The pool area is very nice and quite big. This is the only Universal Orlando Resort that does NOT have a slide in the pool area. This was a big “con” for my 8-year old son. He’s all about the slides at the hotel pools! They did have a water feature with fountains, but it was slippery and he was afraid he was going to slip and fall.

My husband is all about the whirlpools.  However, the only whirlpool in the pool area was hidden behind some trees and it was small (with lots of little children in it).  We couldn’t relax in the whirlpool and keep an eye on our son while he was swimming so we opted out.  HOWEVER – when we complained about this we found out that there is a “secret” whirlpool open to anyone inside the fitness center!  We took a trip in there and enjoyed a nice dip in the whirlpool (all of us)!

There are lots of dining options, but we really didn’t explore them.

This resort offers many various dining options! We had breakfast at the Orchid Lounge in the mornings during their Grab & Go offerings and it was a decent way to get a healthy breakfast before running off to the parks (we got the croissant breakfast sandwiches… they were yummy!)

There are two bars where you can get food:  Jake’s American Bar (inside) and the Bula Bar & Grille (outside by the pool).  The main dining area is the Island Dining Room.  They are open for breakfast & dinner with a special area for the kids to watch TV and play while they eat!

In conclusion – Loews Royal Pacific is still worth it for the Express Pass Unlimited.

Royal Pacific is a great choice if you want to include Express Pass Unlimited into your vacation and you want a resort that has a more “deluxe” feel to it. They also have water taxi service to and from City Walk & the parks AND it is a REALLY short walk as well!  Even though it wasn’t my favorite compared to the other resorts we probably would stay there again just for the convenience.  You really can’t go wrong when you are staying at Universal Orlando!

This was a very honest review that did highlight both pros and cons of this resort. That’s interesting that there was no water slide!
