Magic Kingdom Quick Guide – Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is one of the most magical Disney parks in my opinion.  Walking in and seeing Cinderella’s castle is enough to bring tears to my eyes!  If you are looking for the classic Disney experience this is the park for you.  Find out more about what you will find at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park.

Magic Kingdom really is magical.

When you first walk into Magic Kingdom you are standing in Main Street, U.S.A. and right in the middle of the park is Cinderella’s Castle!  Surrounding the castle are 5 “lands” that are very different from one another (Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, & Tomorrowland).

If you take a left when you enter the park you will find yourself in Adventureland.  This area has a jungle theme.  You can also find Aladdin and Jasmine here throughout the day (check the times guide).  We don’t normally spend a lot of time in this area of the park.  However, it does have a lot of the classic rides that people really are passionate about!

Some attractions you will find:
  • The Swiss Family Tree House
  • Jungle Cruise
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Enchanted Tiki Room:

Snack Alert!

Stop at Aloha Isle to get yourself a Dole Whip. TRUST ME.

This is just like it sounds… the American frontier! The parades usually start out in Frontierland so this is a great spot to set up ahead of time to watch the parades!  We also love Frontierland because it is one of the lands in Magic Kingdom that really make me feel like a kid!  Splash Mountain is my go-to, make me feel like a little giddy kid ride!

Some attractions you will find:
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Tom Sawyer Island
  • Country Bear Jamboree
  • Splash Mountain

Quick Service Location

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café was one of our favorite quick service locations at Disney.  I have heard that there have been a lot of changes since we were last there, so I’m sorry if I recommend it and it’s not as great as it once was!

Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom represents the colonial period of America.  It’s the smallest of the lands in Magic Kingdom, but it still has three attractions unique to its location!  If you love the Muppets you might want to catch The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History outside the Hall of Presidents.

Some attractions you will find:
  • The Hall of Presidents
  • Liberty Square Riverboat
  • Haunted Mansion

The best Thanksgiving Dinner You’ll ever eat at a theme park

Liberty Tree Tavern (serving lunch & dinner) is one of our favorite Table Service restaurants at Magic Kingdom…  and we get the Patriot’s Platter.  Who knew that a delicious Thanksgiving styled dinner would be so delicious at a theme park?!

Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom is my other favorite land in the park and it was a hit with my son as well. Even my husband couldn’t help but admire the environment that Disney created.  Also, some of our favorite attractions are here (and some of the over-rated ones in my opinion as well)!

Some attractions you will find:
  • Barnstormer
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Prince Charming Regal Carousel
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • it’s a small world
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Journey of the Little Mermaid
  • Mad Tea Party
  • Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Beauty & the Beast Inspired Eats

Most likely you are looking to eat at Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom.  Reservations are hard to come by for this one AND they are changing the credits for dinner from 1 to 2 table service credits!  The grey stuff REALLY is delicious, but if you can’t get a reservation stop over at Gaston’s Tavern!  Get a cinnamon roll and some of LeFou’s Brew instead.  It’ll be a lot cheaper!

Who doesn’t think visiting the world of tomorrow is cool? When you step into Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom you feel like you are in another time for sure. The buildings and decor are designed to make you feel like you are in a future world. And the rides are designed around this theme as well.  Also, my absolute FAVORITE ride at Magic Kingdom is in this area of the park!

Some attractions you will find:
  • Astro Orbiter
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Carousel of Progress
  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
  • Space Mountain
  • Tomorrowland Speedway
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority (People Mover)
  • TRON Lightcycle – *Coming Soon*

Futuristic food?

Not really.  Grab some regular theme park food at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.  The burgers are decent and the ribs are actually pretty good.  There is a lot of seating here, so we usually don’t have a problem finding somewhere to sit and eat.

Magic Kingdom always has something going on.  There are a lot of mini shows and dance parties throughout the day (always get a guide to see times).  Not to mention there are LOTS of character meet and greets as well.  But, these are the DO NOT MISS shows & parades that you will want to see!

Happily Ever After

Magic Kingdom hosts special events during certain times of the year and the entire park is decorated for the events as well.  We have been while the park is decorated for Fall and it’s outstanding!  The details they put into the decorations is fantastic.  I’d LOVE to see it decorated for Christmas!

From mid August – October the parks are decorated for Fall and on special nights you can attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Starbucks at Magic Kingdom

From November – December the parks are decorated for the Christmas season and on special nights you can attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!  We thought this special event was worth the extra cost for the extra magic!

*Remember that these events require a special ticket in order to attend!

I would love to hear your favorite places & things to do at Magic Kingdom.  Am I missing something important?  Comment below!

Liberty Tree Tavern really is a good, old fashioned, America meal. It could be dangerous if you are on a diet, yet it is definitely a restaurant to experience at least once.

Ha that’s so true! Lots of carbs and gravy! 🙂

My favorite place to be in the Magic Kingdom is one place you left off- Main Street USA. Seeing the Dapper Dans, the Trolley Show, and interacting with the Citizens of Main Street is a must do for me! So many people walk right through Main Street and miss all the details in the shop windows, listening to the party line, and quaint architecture just to run to the rides. I can’t forget the Flag Retreat ceremony too which brings tears to my eyes every time.

So true! Magic Kingdom wouldn’t be the same without Main Street U.S.A. and I didn’t give it the love it deserves! I love the smells of Main Street and the lights at night!
