Our Top 5 Favorite Places to Stay Cool at Magic Kingdom

It’s no surprise that it gets HOT at Disney.  Being out in that Florida heat is enough to make anyone cranky after a while.  That’s why you need to cool down (and chill out) every so often.  We have our top 5 favorite places to stay cool at Magic Kingdom!  Maybe if this post is a success I’ll have to write one for each park…

Disney Friends Summer Blog Hop

I am so excited to be part of a Disney blog hop again with some Disney friends!  12 other bloggers have joined together to bring you our best tips and tricks when it comes to a Disney vacation!  There is a LOT of great information in these posts.  Make sure after you read my post that you check out the next blog post in this hop!

4 of our favorite places to stay cool at Magic Kingdom are attractions!  It’s a win/win!

What’s better than getting a break & staying cool WHILE being on an attraction?  It’s a win/win scenario in my opinion!  I sat down with my husband and Ashtyn last night and this is the list that we came up with.  Now, don’t get me wrong.  There are a lot of places in Magic Kingdom that you can sit down and relax and cool down.  But these ones are OUR favorites to do so!  You’ll have to comment below and tell me where your favorites are if you disagree!  I’m always looking for new places to sit and chill for a bit!

Top 5 Places to Stay Cool at MK

SPLASH MOUNTAIN

Well, it goes without saying since this is probably my favorite attraction at Magic Kingdom in general that it’s top on the list.  Splash Mountain is a great place to stay cool at Magic Kingdom, but also to STAY cool!  This 10 minute boat ride will keep you cool (in the indoor parts), but that final splash may get you wet enough to stay cool for a least a few minutes afterwards!  Ha!

MICKEY’S PHILHARMAGIC

It’s Mickey’s PhilharMagic, but Donald is the star of the show here.  This is one of my husband’s favorite attractions at Disney.  It’s a great place to sit, relax, & enjoy the AC.  However, it’s also pretty entertaining.  We have great memories at this one, like the time Ashtyn was 3 and thought that Donald was only throwing things at him!  It’s also nice and dark, so if you want to take a little nap you’ve got about 12 minutes.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

It’s a dark boat ride this time.  Pirates of the Caribbean is about 8 minutes of dark, cool, time to chill.  It’s one of the best places to stay cool at Magic Kingdom (in our opinion) and fairly relaxing even though stuff is burning all around you and you’re getting shot at with canons.  Trust me, you’re safe.  Just sit back, cool down, and rest your feet!

CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS

This is a great, big, beautiful 21 minutes of resting in the AC.  From my experience the AC isn’t the coldest in this building, but it’s comfortable enough.  However, the day I remember it not being the coolest was when it was almost 100 degrees outside, so probably not a fair assessment.  It’s not the best place for a nap since you’ll get interrupted every time you change rooms with THAT SONG (I love it by the way).  But it most definitely is a wonderful place to stay cool (and chill) at Magic Kingdom.

THE SHOPS ON MAIN STREET USA

Last but not least…  MY favorite place to stay cool at Magic Kingdom is the shops on Main Street USA!  My husband and Ashtyn don’t necessarily agree or disagree with this one.  They both agree that the AC is probably the BEST in the shops on Main Street, but they don’t enjoy following me around while I say “Look at this!” or “I love this!”  At least they are staying cool and not sweating to death while I look at a million things that I’ll decide to put back and not buy.
